The proposed approach consists of three main steps: first, the focus information of each source image obtained by morphological filtering is used to get the rough segmentation result which is one of the inputs of image matting. Then, image matting technique is applied to obtain the accurate focused region of each source image. Finally, the focused regions are combined together to construct the fused image. Through image matting, the proposed fusion algorithm combines the focus information and the correlations between nearby pixels together, and therefore tends to obtain more accurate fusion result. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method over traditional multi-focus image fusion methods, especially for those images in dynamic scenes. 2011 Elsevier B.V. Multi-Focus Image Fusion in DCT Domain using Variance and Energy of Laplacian and Correlation Coefficient for Visual Sensor Networks
The purpose of multi-focus image fusion is gathering the essential information and the focused parts from the input multi-focus images into a single image. These multi-focus images are captured with different depths of focus of cameras. A lot of multi-focus image fusion techniques have been introduced using considering the focus measurement in the spatial domain. However, the multi-focus image ...
متن کاملPlant Classification in Images of Natural Scenes Using Segmentations Fusion
This paper presents a novel approach to automatic classifying and identifying of tree leaves using image segmentation fusion. With the development of mobile devices and remote access, automatic plant identification in images taken in natural scenes has received much attention. Image segmentation plays a key role in most plant identification methods, especially in complex background images. Wher...
متن کاملFusion of Thermal Infrared and Visible Images Based on Multi-scale Transform and Sparse Representation
Due to the differences between the visible and thermal infrared images, combination of these two types of images is essential for better understanding the characteristics of targets and the environment. Thermal infrared images have most importance to distinguish targets from the background based on the radiation differences, which work well in all-weather and day/night conditions also in land s...
متن کاملRecovery of Dynamic Scene Structure from Multiple Image Sequences
Despite significant progress in automatic recovery of static scene structure from range images, little effort has been made toward extending these approaches to dynamic scenes. This disparity is in large part due to the lack of range sensors with the high sampling rates needed to accurately capture dynamic scenes. We have developed a system that overcomes this problem by exploiting video camera...
متن کاملApplications of Multi-Bucket Sensors to Computational Photography
Many computational photography techniques take the form, ”Capture a burst of images varying camera setting X (exposure, gain, focus, lighting), then align and combine them to produce a single photograph exhibiting better Y (dynamic range, signal-to-noise, depth of field). Unfortunately, these techniques may fail on moving scenes because the images are captured sequentially, so objects are in di...
